We loved our stay at Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar! This was a warm weather vacation with our 1.5 year old. We had a one bedroom villa and it was the perfect set up for a busy toddler. We had lots of space for him to run around, a full kitchen, black out curtains and space for us parents to relax during nap/bed time! The property is beautiful and we loved the pools and beach. One pool is 1ft deep so great for little ones. The onsite Mahi Mahi beach grill was reasonably priced with good food and drinks. Also had 2 high chairs available. Would recommend renting a car so you can also do some exploring in Dorado and meals out if you want. Grocery stores are nearby so you can also have food on hand in your room.

One bedroom, living room, kitchen, patio, ocean view Month of February 2026. Great office staff, cleaning crew, and restaurant/bar and serving staff. Two large poolside hot tubs, kids shallow separate pool and two large warm swimming pools. Bar/grill is Oceanside next to the beach. Great large menu steak, lobster, mahi, Puerto Rican foods. We will skip Mexico and Florida in the future to vacation here. 40 minutes to old San Juan and nearby grocery store and gasoline station. Private beach cove great for snorkeling and kid’s play.

When we arrived after a long day of travel the front desk was pleasant and checked us in quickly and explained all information. Staff was pleasant and smiling all around. Grounds clean. Rooms clean. Room service very good. Restaurant was good with great service. We enjoyed our stay with the horses, beautiful beach, snorkeling on the right side, and peace. Our first visit but we will be back. Yes the rooms need some updating, but it mattered not.

We stayed at Hyatt Vacation Club at Hacienda del Mar in January of 2026 and we were extremely disappointed with how our concerns were handled. On a Saturday morning, we were woken up by active construction taking place in the rooms directly next to ours. This was not verbally disclosed at check-in, nor were we proactively placed in a non-construction area of the resort, despite other sections being unaffected. When we approached the front desk, the response we received was simply that the construction information was “on the website.” That dismissive response was more frustrating than the noise itself. A simple acknowledgment or attempt at service recovery would have gone a long way. Since we booked through Hotels.com we did not see the small notice that there “may be construction”. Nor would we thought it would be happening on a Saturday from 8am to 6pm. Construction happens. We understand that. But placing guests next to active work without warning, and then responding without empathy, does not reflect the level of service expected from a Hyatt-branded property. If you are booking here, I strongly recommend confirming whether your room will be near any ongoing construction and requesting placement away from those areas.

Staff only cleans rooms every other day. My room was a bit dirty with soap scum and other scum on my nightstand. I messaged them about it prior to the every other day cleaning day and was totally disregarded. Beds were comfortable. Beach was beautiful and comfortable. Make sure to have transportation because there is only 1 restaurant and a store with limited product. You could sit through it once but I probably would stay closer to a place with things in walking distance. Perfect for if you plan on going to the resort and staying there without leaving and don’t need snacks or anything.

Incredible room with fully stocked kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was so spacious! We loved the beach area, very secluded, and the pool area. Sadly it was rainy and windy our few days there, but it was still a great time. The staff were phenomenal and so helpful. We will be back!

Overall, this hotel had some definite highs and a few frustrating drawbacks. The beach was really nice, and the balcony view overlooking the ocean and pools was beautiful — easily one of the best parts of the stay. The bed was comfortable, which made sleeping easy after long days out. The food options on site (though not technically part of the hotel) were good and convenient, which was a plus. That said, a few things kept this from being a relaxing experience. The hot tub jets were extremely intense and sprayed directly into our faces the entire time, making it more uncomfortable than relaxing. The tub itself was very small, so taking a bath wasn’t enjoyable either. Unfortunately, the mini fridge had a strong unpleasant odor, which was disappointing and off-putting. Overall, the location and views were great, but some comfort and maintenance issues took away from what could have been a much more relaxing stay.

The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The grounds were pretty and it was right on the beach only a 10 minute drive from Playa de Vega Baja, which I highly recommend. Rooms were clean and pool was nice. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant – the food was mediocre.
