Not a trip at the Beach … in Beachwood Oh

This facility claims to be an extended stay facility. However, it is less than comfortable. The bed definitely is not even a queen size bed. The bedding and sheets were dingy. The bathroom surround l appeared to be spray-painted and was peeling. there was also an odor in the room. I attempted to apply a disinfectant spray in order to alleviate the aroma. My recent stay at your facility was less than desirable. As a frequent traveler, I have stated both high-end and lower end hotel facilities. This was probably one of the worst facilities. As it advertises itself as an extended stay facility, the amenities were lacking. I do understand that decisions are made based on economic precursors. However, this facility lacked the basic necessities of an extended stay. The room was outfitted with a small kitchenette however, the essentials such as paper towels, a trashcan, etc. were not present. The bathroom itself screamed of “DIY”remodeling. The bathroom surround appeared to be spray painted with some sort of epoxy paint, however, it was peeling. There were no toiletries available, such as the bare minimum of a lotion, shampoo, or conditioner. You are greeted with only two tiny bars of soap. This is less than desirable for someone who may be expecting the basic necessities of an extended stay facility. Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by a pleasant African-American woman. She did an excellent job of checking us in.

Clean and simple

Bed was a bit soft but clean. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. Fridge looked a little beat up but clean. Just nothing fancy but happy for all the cleanliness.

I've stayed at this property before and it was fair. I was caught off guard by the hold on my card for incidentals that I was notified about during check in. The room was fair but I was not impressed by the old windows in the room that were cracked and had only one set of curtains which would allow anyone to see into the room. The heat unit couldn't be turned down, therefore we suffered being too hot all night long. The room temperature started at 75 and only dropped to 72 by morning. The tv was the most annoying part of the stay because the remote had audible commands on it which announced every channel selection and adjustment of volume each time. I'm not understanding what incidentals were used that would require them to keep my$50 because there weren't any in the room. I noticed that to use their phone in the room, there is a charge for doing, which would be charged for both local and long distance. I felt as if this was unnecessary. The room was clean, which was great. The bed was average but pillows feel like we were just sleeping on the mattress. I'd like to give a higher rating but they kept my deposit for no reason.

I'm sure this area used to be nice, but most hotels and restaurants around were boarded up and shut down, so a bit sketchy. The staff was friendly, but overworked. The baseboards on our floor were missing...they were possibly getting ready to replace the carpet...which needed it badly. The air conditioner in our room did not work, but we couldn't use the phone to call and report it, because it didn't work either. They didn't move us to a new room, but the air got fixed in pretty short order. Free breakfast is a misnomer...it's free coffee, cocoa, choices of breakfast bars or small wrapped muffins, and apples on a small counter. No eating area to speak of. We felt like everything was handled with the idea in mind that anything and everything could get stolen any minute. The beds were comfortable though. I would not with good conscious recommend staying here.

The service was excellent, the staff were very nice. My room was well cleaned and set up. The bed wasn't very comfortable. Someone set off the fire alarm around 10:30pm, and the situation was handled efficiently. We were only outside for about 10 minutes. My room was at the end of the hall next to the door to the stairs and outside, which both were extremely loud. All in all, decent stay for one night.
