I had a very disappointing experience at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon. This is clearly a property geared toward large tour groups, which makes the lobby consistently overcrowded and the check-in process extremely slow. In my case, check-in took over 30 minutes.
Due to a national train strike, I arrived a day late. While I understand policies are policies, I was surprised and disappointed that the hotel would not offer any refund or accommodation for the missed night, especially given the exceptional circumstances.
To make matters worse, the hotel misplaced my luggage upon arrival and it took them nearly two hours to locate it. After a wonderful trip across Portugal, this was a poor way to end my journey.
Overall, the lack of flexibility, the inefficiency, and the impersonal nature of the service left me with a very negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a smooth or accommodating experience.
