The hotel is beautiful in its communal areas, but the rooms themselves left a lot to be desired. Although it’s an older property, the layout and room descriptions are confusing. Calling a very small bedroom a “king-size room” simply because it contains a king-size bed doesn’t make sense.
We had to move rooms multiple times, and each time there was a new issue. In our final room, the temperature was unbearably hot and the air conditioning wouldn’t work at all. On top of that, the sink wouldn’t drain properly, and we had to force the plug out just to let the water escape.
For £300 a night, it’s quite outrageous to experience problems like these. I genuinely feel like I’ve had money taken from me considering the quality of the stay.
Overall, while the shared spaces are lovely, the room experience was consistently disappointing.
