The Inn is a historic, well preserved & interesting complex on a beautiful piece of land in town. I was looking forward to enjoying the green space and not being in a chain. For the most part it was a good choice.
What colored my experience was the room I got stuck in. It was in the original building and thus older, a bit challenging to negotiate (narrow stairs, uneven floors, etc. Those things are not obstacles but worth noting. However, coupled with my room being somewhat small & with windows that overlooked the roof on both sides where there were windows was really disappointing. I couldn’t se anything but the roof. I walked around the property & went in to the large Inn adjacent & felt cheated. It was beautiful, airy and light. Many comfortable sitting areas. They should save my room for when they are full & need the space. I felt that because I was alone I got the short straw.
