A hotel can be a hotel anywhere in the world, but its staff is what really sets it apart. The staff at Buenaventura Grand is the best I've seen. Everyone you ask a question to greets you with a smile and it is noted that they are happy to be there.

Disappointing. This isn’t for a relaxing adult vacation. The pool area was jammed packed and you were lucky to find a lounge chair. Weird system to trade a card for a towel and at times you had to wait for a clean towel. The only two restaurants require reservations yet the restaurants are only half full. This was every night. The food at the Mexican restaurant was tasteless and I did not return after the only night I visited there. The seafood restaurant was better but you had to make your reservation early in the morning. There were only a few items at the buffet that were edible. The AC in the room did not cool the room enough so I was happy that I packed my little portable fan. Staff at the front desk, customer service and concierge were rude and unhelpful.

This is a cozy property with beautiful views and vibes. The people (especially Gustavo and Nolberto) are the reason for the five stars. The room and all areas are super clean and the landscaping well-maintained. The food was yummy! The only cons are the beach (horrible) and the music at the pool (soft, lounge “covers” of American Pop). If you want to chill by the pool and relax, this place is for you!!

The Mediterranean restaurant was good. We did mot try the Mexican restaurant because it had little options for meals. The pool staff was very accommodating, and fun and pleasant. The Activities staff was not real engaging and when trying to play beach volleyball, they were no help! Overall vibe is chill and relaxing. Always able to find beach chairs, though security is right on it if you leave your chair/belonging for more than 15 mins! Yes...15 mins! Enjoyed our stay but would not return...sad sad rocky beach!

Been almost 20 years since we’d been to Mexico. First time in an all inclusive. Property was nice. Pool was very crowded each day. Food was ok. Service was weak. Probably because we passed on the upsells. We forgot how pushy street vendors were as well. Likely will not be back.

The overall property was nice and comfortable. The front desk staff were not very friendly. I made an error with my booking and the explanation of the adjust the funds wasn't clearly communicated. They also ran out of water bottles and when we asked for more in our room they told us they only provide water once (3 somewhat bottles) one for each of us. The Caribbean night was fun and the food was pretty good.
