Beds were comfy and the living space was clean. The separate sleeping and living room was nice! However, the bathroom was old and very dingy. Mold spots on ceiling and tile but it felt clean, just didn’t look clean. Valet service was top notch!

I had a wonderful stay at the Atheneum Suite Hotel in Detroit. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly. The suites are incredibly spacious, clean, and well-designed — much larger than what you typically find at other hotels. The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the little touches that made the room feel more like a home than just a place to stay. The location is also perfect — right in the heart of Greektown. It’s easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and entertainment, and the complimentary shuttle service to downtown spots like the stadiums was a huge plus. What stood out most was the combination of comfort and hospitality. Everyone I interacted with went out of their way to make sure my stay was enjoyable. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Detroit and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Stay was very nice, the hotel is very convenient to anywhere you need to go in the downtown area. Lobby bar staff were so friendly and quick with service. For the most part the front staff were attentive and friendly. Just had one issue when I asked if we could have a half hour to the morning check out, the individual was very put off and would not assists us. Other wise we had no issues.

My toilet wouldn’t flush, when I told the front desk, they said they didn’t have a plunger and if I needed to use the restroom, that I should go outside. That next morning, someone plunged the toilet, only to have it plugged again later that night. I couldn’t use the bathroom pretty much my whole stay.

Location, location, location!

Location is perfect for any of the Detroit sports teams events - walking distance to all the stadiums! And a bonus is being literally right next door to Greektown and steps away from Woodward Ave.

Perfect stay!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was, clean, large, and comfortable. There was a problem with the spa tub, that couldn't not be fixed. The hotel offered to move us but we declined so they comped our parking for the inconvenience. The staff was amazing. Every person we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the A Bar in the lobby. Great drinks & food but the staff sets it apart. We were there for 3 nights and Zac went above and beyond. Even though super busy everytime he remembered our drinks and our favorite table. Scott and Tamika(?) were very good as well. Keno our shuttle driver was very friendly and knowledgeable and even was there to bring us back to the hotel before we had a chance to call. Location is perfect. Walking distance to both Ford Field and Comerica Park. As well as Greektown and many bars and restaurants. Will definitely our go to in downtown Detroit from now on.

Needs updating and better A/C

The stay was okay. The a/c could get colder. The rooms need some major updating. I was charged for bottle water in the mini fridge and was not told it wasn't included with the room.

Our room was excellent, our interactions with the staff just fine. My main issue is that we were on the Lafayette St. side of the hotel, and we were barraged by noise from a near-by night club (thumping bass, car engines revving) that not even ear plugs could stop.

Great Location, but hot.

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was clean and the room was very spacious. This hotel is located within walking distance to sporting venues, especially Comerica Park and Ford Field. The only complaint is the room was extremely hot and the air conditioner didn’t work. It was cooler outside than in the room.

Still a good stay

This is my second time here. My first review was 5 stars. This stay I was still impressed with room size, comfort, the beds, the friendliest staff, and location. We used the free shuttle for a large concert and had no issue with drop off or pick up. I am reducing my rating because my 8 year old came in and immediately opened the curtains and found a dirty pair of woman's underwear on the floor. I later stepped on a full fingernail on the side of the second bed. After that I took a peek under both beds and found they were filthy and obviously had not been vacuumed or cleaned in quite sometime. At my next stay I will check these things first and request a new room if it is not up to standards.
