We had a great week at the Effie. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was so good! The staff from reception to bar were all really friendly and helpful, and were responsive to any issues we had.
The only issues we had were that the drain in our shower smelled during use for the first few days, until it was resolved. The toilet paper in our room was not replenished when our room was serviced several times, but again this was resolved after requesting it at reception. One of the mornings we ordered breakfast to our room and although it was very good it was unfortunately not hot, I believe it was a busy morning.
Another thing to be aware of is that during the week the bars and restaurants both in the hotel and the Baytowne Wharf area are not open very late.

My stay was overall great! I have an ADA and I was able to have that handled without hassle. The down side is, I was told numerous times that there as a live DJ on Fridays and Saturday nights, there was not! I specifically stayed there for that reason! But over all it was fantastic and accommodating!

Incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied with the service when we checked in, we didn’t receive the room that was advertised even when I called ahead to make sure we would have a couch as shown in pictures. When we got to the room and noticed no couch I called down to the front desk and let them know the pictures showed a couch in the Expedia app as well as the Bonvoy app and the description of the room noted a couch. The manager I spoke with told me maybe I should check with Expedia to update their photos which really irritated me further. He didn’t offer any kind of compensation other than a $50 resort fee credit. I will be speaking with another manager about this frustrating experience, but at this time I’d never want to stay here now knowing how awful of an experience it was paying for a room that we didn’t even get.
