Cool ass hotel

The staff were really helpful and really kind checking in was super simple the man at the front desk well spoken and kind to all. I really enjoyed my stay, especially with the room view. I hope to come back again the restaurant downstairs is also pretty damn good and they really are generous with the wine also the location of the hotel itself is really good in walking distance and each direction. There’s coffee shops, tourist stops, places to eat and drink a bus stop down the road and super simple for Uber to find location when I come back to Philly I plan on staying in the same spot. I don’t usually leave good reviews but man this place was great. Also the cleaning service the lady is super sweet thank you to all the staff members. I hope to visit again soon

The accomodations were fine but the facilities were dated, and the amenities were lacking. Small details that make impact were missing. Coffee quality was not good. Water was served in the lobby with shot glass size cups. Nothing egregious but nothing exceptional.

Great authentic hotel. Ask for a room at the back as traffic noise from I95 is constant at the front. No breakfast. Comfy room with great shower and whirlpool bath. Bins for recycling would be helpful.

Good location near SEPTA. However, the staff wasn't amazing. I waited 15 minutes to check in because they were more concerned with whoever was on the phone than with the customer standing right in front of them. Also, they told me they had coffee and muffins until a certain time, I arrived before that time, and everything was gone. That was frustrating. Otherwise, its sufficient, but I won't be staying here again.

Penn's View Hotel might be worth a look.

The hotel is old and small. The lobby is quite small. There is only one elevator. Room keys are actual keys. If you keep the age in mind, it has charm. The staff is excellent and the restaurant and bar are surprisingly good. It is not in the best of neighborhoods and the traffic noises can be bothersome. The neighborhood shows signs of improvement. Some of the architecture is lovely. Bathrooms are not easy for anyone with mobility issues.

Historic details

Hotel location is right near freeway but it is still in a beautiful, historic area—just on the edge of it. Hotel is wonderfully quirky. Bar is great with really nice cocktails. Our room had many historic touches including a gorgeous old brick wall. Staff were excellent.

By all means stay here!

What a warm and welcoming hotel! Location is wonderful - we walked to Chinatown and passed a lot of historical sites. Room comfortable and quiet. Bathroom clean and water pressure great. I would definitely stay here again. Everyone at the reception desk goes out of their way from giving directions and lending chargers to asking us about our evening when we returned.

Nicest place I’ve stayed in a long time!

I cannot wait to go back! First, parking is right next to the hotel. Second, you get an actual key on a cool gold plated key ring. The rooms are so unique. The bathroom is wonderful! The tiny balcony is adorable! Super clean! In waking distance of historic Philly, all great restaurants, and bars. Quick Uber ride to all the Philly sports. Will go there again!

Wonderful hotel. Fabulous restaurant!!

Loved this hotel. Spacious and charmingly decorated. Restaurant in the hotel was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Couldn’t decide so I got the scallops and then eggplant parmigiana. Wow! Outstanding!! The only thing I wish is that they had blackout curtains over the window. There were beautiful shutters on my window, but the hallway light was a spotlight outside of that window all night, throwing a lot of light into the room. I would not hesitate to stay here again. And hope to be back for another meal!

Great and not so great

Wierdly mixed on Penn View... FIrst the negatives. There is NO parking. None. There are pay lots nearby but are not affiliated in any way. The hotel is 100% not accessible. Neutral- no breakfast, but there is free coffee and funky little muffins. There’s also a Italian restaurant on ground floor, we didn’t try it but the menu looked interesting. Didn’t notice if it was busy or not. Good- the rooms were cute and felt like nice mix between modern and 18th century. The location is outstanding, so close to so many landmarks and tourist destinations and lots a fun places to eat.
