Now we know why I stick to name brand hotels. Equus Inn was just okay, barely. It's a motel. The beds were OK. The bathroom closet (with the shower and toilet) was a dark cave with a super loud fan when you turned on the light. Whoever chose those dark brownish stones for the shower floor made a bad call. Gross! Couldn't make myself step in there with bare feet, had to use my flip flops for shower shoes. No housekeeping service for 3 days - but they were sure to include an envelope in the room, asking for tips. For what, exactly?
Sticking to name-brand hotels from here on out.
After check in and based on a lot of the reviews, I was at least looking forward to the breakfast buffet in the morning. It made me sad. The menu: VERY dry egg 'patties', biscuits and gravy, box cereal, VERY tiny containers of yogurt, oranges, and TWO large coffee dispensers - both of which were EMPTY. No bacon or sausage links, no toast or bagels - just sad. After day 1 we didn't go back.
