Cute wee room

Stayed for one night as it was close to Ben Hope. The room was old fashioned, but in a good way . Loved the tartan accessories and the big deep bath was an unexpected nice surprise . I would stay there again if I was going back to that part of the country

Charming Hotel with very nicely appointed room. Very comfortable and quiet. Alan was particularly helpful with checking me in and providing a safe storage for my bicycle. I very much enjoyed my stay over during by cycling tour.

Remote Highland Hotel worth visiting

Splendid highland situation in a remote scenic area with good parking. Well appointed furniture and fittings and country views, although I could not see the lake from inside the hotel. Room warm on arrival but tv being upgraded so not available. Very good internet signal, Only a couple of guests as out of season so had personal service

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Their attention to detail was highly appreciated. There was a nice fire in the fireplace. The room and bathroom were clean. And dinner, the Balmoral Chicken, was delicious. The best I’ve had in Scotland. Veggies cooked to perfection as well. Highly recommended.

I guess they charge top dollar because there’s not many other places to stay? The place is tatty, battered paintwork, broken light fitting and £100 for a very average meal served by a bloke in a tracksuit. The much anticipated rainfall shower was more light drizzle and intermittent at that. Running dry frequently. I’d have done better under the leaking guttering perfectly placed above the entrance door. Went for breakfast, said hello to the waitress and was then roundly ignored for a party of four who came in after us and were served immediately. I’m guessing they are preferred regulars judging by their interactions with staff who all seemed to know them? After waiting 10 minutes we gave up. We then had a dispute about the bill which I’d paid in advance. The clue is the evidence I presented so don’t try “oh it’s just a prepayment”. I’m also unsure why your bill didn’t match my payment unless of course we were on the other side of the wrong room saga other guests had. In short, this place is hugely overpriced trading solely on its location. Wouldn’t recommend.
