Nothing compared to our first stay. Our sons only weekend without school we decided to make the venture from the area of Buffalo to Monticello based on our previous experience. We booked a bunk room so both boys had their own bunks, which was super exciting. We watched videos leading up to the trip to explain how cool this place was. Instead, we were denied early check in. That was fine. We then were told our room wasn’t ready and to visit the water park. We changed in the car (gross) and attempted an overpacked and understaffed waterpark. We were able to manage a slide. We then left to get pizza, still wet from the slide, while we waited for our room. An hour passed and our room was finally available. By the time we settled in and finished our food, it was too packed to enter the waterpark again and so we did the arcade. The bunk room had some blood stains on a pillow, which wasn’t utilized so it was fine but probably should be thrown for future use. We were unable to utilize the outdoor activities due to time restraint with quiet hours. Our morning walk was the most exciting part of the trip before we checked out. A disappointment for the children, especially after hyping them up telling them it was so much better than Kalahari. Not even able to use the lazy river as there were no tubes and free roaming children. The room was comfortable, but we paid to utilize the amenities and didn’t get a chance. Could’ve done something in Buffalo for the same luster.
