Ready for an education in local botany? Japanese Garden should make your list of places to visit, located 3.7 mi (5.9 km) from central La Paz. Want to stretch your legs some more? Head to Muela del Diablo and Plaza San Martín, both nearby.
"This is a great hotel to use as a place to first deal with the pangs of altitude sickness. The staff is friendly, the rooms are modern and clean, lit well, amenities are great, and the neighborhood is one of La Paz's fanciest. In the hotel you are a brief walk from the teleferico spur that takes you into La Paz proper, though you could hang out nearby in coffee shops or maybe go get a nice dinner at Gustu, just a few minutes away."
"I would ask the Hotel that if you are not going to honor Platinum membership don’t call yourself a VIP hotel.
It is deceptive, especially when we are coming from another country and expect certain things "
"Was given the wrong room upon check-in (had booked a Suite but given a Standard room). On the second night we were offered to move to the Suite, but also told that there was a party on the floor above, so we shouldn’t expect to get much sleep. We obviously passed and waited another day. When asking for compensation for the two nights in a Standard room (while paying for a suite) we were only offered a small discount on airport transportation - much less than the difference we had paid. On top of this the heating didn’t work in either of the two rooms. Generally poor service and the facilities weren’t great either."
