"What a truly great hotel AND experience! The hotel is wonderful and the views all around are stunning. It’s its own nature tour with paths and a zip line and bridge. You will see monkeys, sloths, iguanas and so many more all over the place! The staff….WOW! They’re all wonderful, helpful, friendly and so personable! They have great suggestions and help to set up tours and provide really good options for things to do in town. The restaurant and bar are a joy to spend time in while eating fantastic food! Don’t hesitate to book there. Don’t look at other options. Do yourself a favor and stay there! This hotel is tops! "

"This hotel is incredible! It is two properties that are within steps of each other. The pools at both are incredible and have large cabanas with fans. The bar area is so nice, we ended up here most evenings. The food at the restaurant is incredible! You get a menu for breakfast, along with some food and drinks put out as a buffet. The breakfast options are incredible, and some of the best food we ate on the trip. Our room was cleaned promptly every day and was left with a towel animal we looked forward to. The staff is super friendly and helpful, as we stopped in multiple times to ask questions. In my opinion, you could not have a better location! You are steps to the beach and the national park. Anywhere else in Manuel Antonio would definitely require a car, but we got everything we wanted right outside the hotel! We are so excited to return! "

"Spotless room on the highest floor, so no noise from the restaurant. Beautiful pool and lovely terrace restaurant. Was a little overwhelming arriving into the town, being harassed by people wanting you to park in their area, but once at the hotel we were treated very well. Easy walk to the beach, but preferred to stay at the hotel with no vendors bothering us."

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond anything you’d normally expect from a resort. Every interaction felt warm, personal, and genuinely caring. The views were breathtaking. Each morning we watched Costa Rica’s beautiful birds soaring right past our balcony with the Pacific shimmering behind them — absolutely stunning and unforgettable. A very special thank you to Roy and Justin. These two truly took care of us in ways we never expected. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help made our stay feel magical. The location is fantastic — close to everything, making it easy to explore the entire area within just a few minutes. The staff also gave great recommendations for tours and local spots. We did the horseback waterfall tour, and it completely blew our minds. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt authentic and unforgettable. And the food… wow. The complimentary breakfast was the best we’ve had in all of Costa Rica, and we’ve been here for six weeks! Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We originally booked 5 nights at Layan but ended up staying 10 because they truly spoiled us. The hotel is also spotlessly clean and beds are super comfortable which made the experience even more fantastic. Layan Hotel exceeded every expectation. "
