"Clean rooms and grounds. Friendly staff. Good food. Wash cloths we could have been appreciated, but we saw this at another place, maybe they don't use them? The view from our room was beautiful! And we loved the monkeys every morning on our bAlcony. But watch your things! The walk to the beach is not the easiest but we did enjoy the beach. The pools, restaurant, bar and staff are great.its on a very steep hill so beware of that but staff will golf cart you up and down if desired."
"As a Costa Rican who has been visiting Jacó my entire life, I’ve witnessed the town grow busier and more commercial over the years. So discovering Hotel Lia felt like stumbling upon a true oasis amid the hustle and bustle.
This beachfront hotel offers something rare in Jacó: a peaceful, safe, and beautifully designed space that feels a bit removed from the chaos, without sacrificing location. The access to the beach is seamless, and the setting itself feels new, fresh, and thoughtfully maintained. Everything was spotless, from the rooms to the common areas, and the pool area was especially lovely.
One of the highlights was the staff, they were warm, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. At one point, they even set things up so we could enjoy the sunset directly from the sand, which was such a memorable touch.
The food at the on-site restaurant was surprisingly good, with fair pricing, and it made staying in that much more enjoyable. Honestly, everything about our stay was pleasant and easy.
What makes Hotel Lia even more special is its proximity to San José. It’s only a two-hour drive, making it an ideal weekend escape without the long haul that other beautiful beach destinations in Costa Rica often require.
All in all, I only have great things to say about this hotel. It’s a rare find in Jacó, and I highly recommend it to anyone, locals or visitors, looking for a stylish, safe, and peaceful getaway just a short drive from San José."
"My husband and I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was exceptional. We will definitely be returning in the future and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. "
"The property in on steep land, but transportation is available 24/7 via golf cart and the staff respond quickly. There are many amenities. First, the concierge staff are top notch. Johansy made sure all of our needs were met and she went above and beyond to do so. For example, when we found out the mini bar service was no longer offered, she helped us order snacks and drinks to be delivered from a grocery store to have in our room.
Second, the resort provides its' own guides for the Manuel Antonio National Park. We arranged to have a private tour due to my mobility limitations. We had Clarence Whittaker as our guide, and he was so patient, friendly and helpful, he pushed me in a wheelchair, UPHILL and over gravel and rocks. He was incredible. And of course, he was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. I cannot say enough about him. There is also a free tour of the hotel's own nature reserve, but we didn't go on it.
The food at the restaurant is excellent. The included breakfast is very generous. All the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The view is gorgeous and we watched the sun set from the restaurant and Sky Bar every night. We heard howler monkeys and toucans. The drinks were delicious and not overly sweet like in the US.
Our room was lovely, comfortable and clean and it had nice amenities too, like delicious coffee, a sitting area, an outdoor sitting area and a luxurious shower with multiple nozzles. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and accommodating."
"Beautiful resort to spend time with family. Vegetarian dinner options were limited at La Casa restaurant and kind of expensive (nevertheless, you have a lot of restaurants outside at La Fortuna, but everything else in the resort was very nice and awesome! Staff were very friendly, rooms were clean, resort is clean, pools, hot springs were great!
Excellent resort!! FIVE STARS! We went in December 2025!"
