Buffalo Bay Vacation Club

"This bungalow resort is good value for money with a great beach location. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room had a fridge and fan. I also had hot water, although I believe some bungalows may only have cold water — I was kindly upgraded on arrival, which I appreciated but random.
Check-in was a little unusual. I arrived around 3pm and had to ring the reception bell, a couple times. I was greeted by a very sweaty man who looked as though he had just got dressed, which felt a bit uncomfortable.
The main reason I wouldn’t stay again is due to the large number of huge bats living in the trees directly above the bungalows. There are thousands of them and they screech constantly, day and night. I understand this is completely out of the owner’s control, but it made the stay quite stressful and not the relaxing, beachy experience I was hoping for.
I also wouldn’t recommend this place for solo travellers. Once the sun sets there is no outdoor lighting, so walking through the trees to the bungalows feels quite spooky, especially with the bats, monkeys, and other wildlife around. Some pathway & lighting would make a big difference.
The view from the bungalows themselves isn’t great, as you’re looking straight onto the back of another bungalow. There is no working WiFi from the bungalows. And
Overall, for the price it’s hard to complain too much, but personally it wasn’t the most enjoyable stay for me."
"We stayed one night, in one of the little orange villas. What a great find! So quaint and well thought out, and clean. Loved that they included a little New Testament Bible in the nightstand!
We ate on site and really enjoyed our (early) dinner and breakfast. There's an outdoor raised area that we ate at -- where we could hear the birds, feel the breeze, and be out of the rain. "
"Highly recommend! In all of my travels around the world, I would say that this is one of my favorite hotels. And you get a great breakfast and gourmet coffee to go along with it. Pat runs the front desk. Her and the rest of the staff is so friendly and they just make you want to come back. This is my second trip here, and I will always stay in this hotel whenever I’m in Ranong. "
"We enjoyed our stay and the owner was always more than willing to help, including her smile. The room was nice and big and very comfortable. You ABSOLUTELY need a scooter as it is far from everything and rentals are available on site.
