The Reef 28 Hotel & Spa - Luxury Adults Only - All Suites
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was friendly. The lobby bartenders were great. The rooms were spacious and clean. The gym was decent size, and appropriate for the number of rooms. The hotel was in a great location! You could walk to the beach or to 5th avenue where many of the restaurants are. You could also walk to the ferry terminal to go to Cozumel. For the price paid, the property had great value and we would definitely visit again. The property isn't all inclusive for everyone and you have to opt in to a certain package. There are different packages and depending on which one you pick you'll get a different wristband. What we were entitled to based on our package was hard to remember, but we eventually figured it out. Since the all inclusive was not standard, there are checks that are delivered at the end of each meal (not including the breakfast buffet) that you have to sign and you can't just walk away. We found that to be annoying at times when we wanted to head out and couldn't find anyone to help. "
Hotel Xcaret Mexico - All Parks / All Fun Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"The property is huge and overwhelming at times however the selection in food options and access to parks makes it a great option if your family likes action and adventure"
"The location was great, taking a tunnel under the main street to the beach area and snorkeling right from there. We snorkeled as far south as the ferry pier a few times, was very convenient. We borrowed the included bikes and went about 2 miles south (to the marina) and pretty far north as well. Very nice to walk 4-8 blocks to two grocery stores and the main square. You can catch a cab right in the parking lot. We took a cab most days for scuba and they were all friendly and charged the expected rate.
The food here is buffet style, it is clean and well prepared but not very interesting. Same for the drinks, it's pretty much the all inclusive basics and nothing special. The shows were also pretty average. That said for the price you can't expect much more. You can take those savings and go elsewhere for a luxurious meal or a drink you might post a picture of on insta.
Everyone seemed pretty happy with the resort, and many people in the hot tub were return visitors. If you are a foodie, or want pictures of food for whatever, this isn't the place. Also, no drinks (alcohol or otherwise) in the room fridge, or snacks for that matter, but the grocery is right down the street. "
