The Gym/Spa was an additional charge per day. It did not say that on the listing on hotel.com/ expedia. My room was very dusty, it had dust piles on the lamp, the window seal, and above the bed. I also saw a Cockaroach in my room when coming back one night. When i went to kill the roach, it scurried behind my bed's headboad. I notified the staff and they said they could spray some bug spray but i did not want to smell and breath that in. Also bug spray is not that effective against Roaches. Over all, i was not impressed with the hotel.

This hotel is truly awesome! The staff is extremely kind and the rooms are wonderful. Everything we needed was pretty close walking distance from the hotel, such as shopping, transport, and Nijo Castle was just down the street. Everything about this hotel was fantastic! Its a lovely hotel. The gym is adequate (costs 550yen to use) and the facilities are clean. Only downside is that it is not central so you have to take transport to get into the main areas of Kyoto.

Very pleasant stay

Nice hotel. Stayed there for 12 nights. Not in the tourist center, but close by and with around 20 bus lines in the area, it's easy to get around. Nice onsen. Fitness room for 550 yen. Abundant breakfast with Japanese, western and Chinese style. You pre-booked a time slot for your breakfast so you avoid lines. Possibility for both lunch and dinner here. Many groups stay here, but it all runs smooth. Possible to follow the onsen and laundry machines on the TV.

Location is ok - decent amenities around it and I walked everywhere, but I imagine most people get taxis or public transport to main attractions. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a cheaper hotel with nice spa facilities!
