Splendid historic manse with large bedroom, private bathroom and lovely quiet location. A comfortable two night stay provided by a lovely host serving up a terrific breakfast and great advice for enjoying the countryside and historic houses close by.

The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk.

We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Elizabeth Ann was very accommodating and fitted in with our arrangements. The breakfast was fantastic comprising of local grown produce. A lovely home from home, very comfortable with thoughtful touches. Food was outstanding and Elizabeth Anne couldn't do enough for you. The Guest House is a lovely house in beautiful countryside. One comment there was wifi but no television. This was fine for us but may influence another guest. Thank you Elizabeth Anne we will be back

Absolutely wonderful stay!

Home owner Elizabeth was an absolute GEM! Her hospitality, conversation and warmth was remarkable. Her home is stunning and very reminiscent of a true Scottish countryside homestead. Our room was very spacious and the bed, extremely comfortable. Elizabeth was very attentive; her goal was truly to ensure we had an amazing experience in her home. And, we did!! Breakfast was beyond delicious. We enjoyed a full spread of traditional Scottish specialties. Elizabeth even baked home made scones!! If we ever return to the area, we will definitely stay at Scaurbridge House. We can’t say enough great things about our memorable experience. Thanks so much, Elizabeth!!!!
