Really enjoyed my first time in the city of Dakar, while staying at this place. The staff (Adama and the ladies) were super helpful, the room was spacious, the WiFi and the breakfast were great. I was tempted to stay in all day.

Convenient oasis!

Super lovely, peaceful and clean. The location is perfect - calm but also very close to some sights and beach areas. The staff is very kind and helpful - they can helps arrange taxis, buses (to Saint Louis for example) and cash exchanges. The rooftop space is amazing for relaxing and some nights has fun stuff going on life movie night. Highly recommend!

Very nice people Water pressure very weak though. You have to flush many times. Very reliable and exceptional staff. Quiet area. Film show every Tuesday on the rooftop.

The staff was very kind and flexible even with the language barrier. Always asked when we left for our adventures if we wanted them to clean our room or need anything. The wifi was great for meetings for my meetings and compared to other apartments and hotels in the area it was fairly quiet. What could be improved was having food and updating the hours on Google, we believed there was a pizzeria there but it was closed even with the signs saying its open. A menu for what they actually do have, potential help options if we want to order food delivery as you need a local number and some other tools to make the stay easier for traveling tourists, though keep in mind when we did ask for it they did help us but it was a bit complicated with the translations. Some facilities could update a bit such as water pressure for the shower, toilet and sink, sheets that get loose as soon as you lie down and not the best ventilation. Overall we're happy compared to many other hotels in the area =)

Business and Pleasure in Dakar

The Hotel du Phare was everything I wanted for the price I wanted to pay. The location ended up being perfect and felt safe, quiet, and comfortable. There was an issue with the water while I was there, and for most of my stay, there was only water about 30% of the time due to the maintenance of the neighborhood's water tower. The staff was very hands off but easy to get ahold of and very accommodating. The hotel rooftop is also a gem, and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. Even with the issue of the water I would stay here again when I return to Dakar. I was concerned about the location but it ended up being a great jumping point and was close to many points of interest and easy to catch a taxi from.

Without the sweet receptionist this place would be too uncomfortable Rooms - very basic food - meh hotel manager brusque to the point of hostility location quiet and safe. Backpacker hostel not hotel

Value for location and cost

We had a conference nearby, hotel du phare was a backup hotel. The accommodations were satisfactory. The restaurant on the roof served excellent pizza. I work globally and stay in many hotels like this: clean, quick service, friendly and a working air conditioning. Sadly it lacked hot coffee in the morning, a slight inconvenience for some- for me a big issue.
