Sadly this was not the right accomodation for us. Stunning views but out a bit of the way so you’ll be travelling to and from a bit if you want to go out and do stuff, on gravel road etc. For us, the apartment did not feel super cosy or comfy and the furnishings weren’t as premium as expected based on the reviews. It was also quite shady inside - these were the things we were looking for in our weekend away. Beautiful spot, secluded and quiet and the outdoor bath was a lovely extra.

Beautiful hillside cabins, well designed and decorated. Quiet area and lovely views of the bay. Cabin was well equipped with everything you need, just bring food and clothing. Oh and drinks :)

We had a lovely stay just that finding the property in the dark for after hours check in is not recommended as there are no lights at the main gate and no lights on the path guiding us. We had to find our way in the dark. Went past the location and had to u turn. Fantastic views where we were at the Summer House with panaromic views during the day but be warned its quite a climb up a gravel path esp with luggage as the car is only parked at the bottom part. Cute refurbished cottage with a fully equipped kitchen w stove, microwave & dishwasher! Tho the pots n pans may need replacing as its quite worn out. Warm for winter stays but please wear your wooly socks!

The remoteness is both a strength and weakness. The location and view is tremendous. But there is nothing nearby, so make sure you bring everything you need to eat and drink (there is a small kitchenette), and next time I would definitely rent a car. We stayed in the "Summer" chalet, which is the smallest (30m2), and must be the oldest? The build quality and layout isn't the best, but you can see the improvements in the newer chalets. So next time I'd pay a little extra to get the 36m2 layout.

Wonderful spot with a great view.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 5 nights. The view from our chalet was fabulous and the seclusion guaranteed a very peaceful and quiet time. Heidi was a friendly, wonderful host. Directions to find the chalet were very good and easy to follow. The automatic and remote controlled gate guaranteed privacy and security. You will need a car if you plan to stay. Nowhere is far to drive to on Waiheke. A great place!

Clean, friendly but uncomfortable

The place was clean and the staff friendly. We had a one bedroom shalet with a lounge that included a sofa bed for the third person. The bedroom was comfortable and had an AC, but the lounge, whose walls and ceiling are made of a plastic material similar to fiber glass sheetswas really really hot. the window facing the ocean had no glass panes so there were a lot of mosquitos at night. Too expensive for what it is & I wouldn't go back again.

We were there for several days so self catered for part of most days and could have done with instructions for induction cooktop and a few more kitchen items eg side plates, bowls with reasonable depth for porridge (!) and large serving plates/salad bowl.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with spectacular ocean views, then this property is for you. Lovely little self contained chalets have everything you need, including a big deck. Also on site is a private cabana open to the ocean views for a private bath for one or two and a proper barrel sauna. It’s a bit out of the way, so you need a car (can rent one at Woodside) but that is why it is so special.
