Great First Visit to Cayman Islands with a
We took the shuttle from airport to resort. Call in advance. We had a terrific first-time visit to Cayman Islands. We arrived without any set plans and honestly loved it. Most of our time was spent relaxing by the pool, enjoying delicious cocktails, and exploring the island by walking along the beach. It was pretty windy for three out of our four days.
Our room was beautiful—spacious, clean, upgraded, and with a lovely ocean view. The only downside was the low water pressure. Definitely avoid running the sink or dishwasher if you’re planning to shower. Also, bring an HDMI cord if you want to stream anything on the TV.
A big plus: the grocery store is within walking distance, which made it easy to grab food to cook. $5 increase. Restaurants are quite pricey unless you’re comfortable splurging, but we did enjoy Taco Tuesday—great shrimp at a reasonable price.
The entertainment host wasn’t our favorite. He came across as arrogant and stern, which felt out of place for Christmas week when you’d expect someone warm, friendly, and fun. Security was also very strict about outside food and drinks at the pool. It felt a bit over the top, especially since we’d grab a mudslide and water from the pier each morning—clearly labeled from Morritts—yet were still questioned daily.
Overall, despite a few quirks, it was a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a calm, relaxing week. We’d definitely return.
