Beware: insect bites

The receptionist was helpful annd polite and moved us to a better room after the first night. However, either in the first room or the second, or both, we were badly bitten by fleas or worse. The lack of hygiene is unacceptable in a hotel which costs more than ÂŁ100 per night.

Plumbing broke my second night there, water from shower didn’t drain and flooded the floor. No one was at front desk and couldn’t get in touch with property manager. Wouldn’t recommend.

The room had a weird smell, my friend said it reminded her of a wet towel. Turns out the shower was on a platform and all the water leaked on the carpet, thus the smell in the room. We checked the reviews to see if it had happened to anyone else, and it had indeed. Also noticed some reviews about bedbugs at the same time. The price is cheap, yes, but maybe book somewhere else just for your own peace of mind. The location is good, yet very noisy (at least the upstairs) due to the busy street next to the hotel. Friendy staff.

It is not worth booking this place

Horrible experience. Got to the hotel, the code that they sent was wrong and couldn’t get into the room. I called the emergency number and tried for an hour, no one picked up. It was 11pm so we were stranded in Stockholm for the night as we couldn’t get another place as a walk-in. Don’t bother and book another place. They also never called back the next day to apologize or anything.

Really more like a hostel. Very, very basic (shared bathrooms - not always the cleanest; no mirror in the room???; could hear people talking through the wall/vent). Just very basic for what I feel I paid for it. Staff were friendly but sometimes were not around; had to wait to check in because they just weren’t there (for a good half hour). It’s fine if you’re going for extremely basic. Bit of a disappointment if you expect more. Still, it was safe and cozy enough and in a good area.

The Front Desk person was the highlight of my stay. He was super sweet and helpful. The Hotel is - in all honesty - the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. The towels were very very clean - but no wash cloths were provided. No heat in the room although outside it was in the low 40’s. Welcome to a freezing cold toilet seat each morning and having to bundle up to go to bed. Bed, sheets, comforter were so cheap and were not the right size for the mattress. I had to ask for soap for the bathroom. The containers in the bathroom were empty. The curtains in the room were so shabby and stained and falling off the hook. There is NO money being put into making the Hotel look nice. It’s a DUMP. So sorry I wasted my money on this sad sad sad hotel.

Basic experience

This is a very basic experience. The advertised queen bed was in fact two narrow single beds with a gap in the middle. Shampoo/shower gel in a plastic bottle on the floor of the shower. The toilet flushing was some sort of vacuum suction that was very loud, felt like I was on a boat. When checking in I brought up the bed situation, asking whether they had a room with the advertised bed. They took no responsibility for the incorrect information at all, stating "I just work here" and there was nothing to be done. Ventilation was poor, the window was locked shut.

Hyggeligt Hotel i Gamla Stan

Servicemindet venligt personale. Hyggeligt vÊrelse, men skabet trÊnger til udskiftning og ville vÊre rart hvis det store spejl hang pÄ vÊggen og der sÄ var godt lys, sÄ man kunne bruge det. VÊrelset blev meget varmt - ved ikke om der er kÞling pÄ den luft der kom ind i lokalet eller om der kun er udsugning (vi havde et vÊrelse uden vindue)? Ellers et dejligt ophold og det ligger perfekt ift. Gamla Stan. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Skön sÀng men tyvÀrr var rummet med fönster vÀldigt lyhört, bÄde mot gatan och in mot hotell. Toaletten slutade att spola och det vart stopp i avloppet i duschen. Det var en stark lukt i rummet. Kunde höja standarden enkelt genom att inreda rummen i samma klass och still som hotellet i övrigt Àr inrett.
