Villa Split has well appointed rooms that make one feel like one is staying in a old, well preserved building. We loved the exposed wooden beams and the furnishings. The staff is fabulous - friendly and helpful. The location, within the Diocletian's Palace is perfect.
A couple of drawbacks:
-The bathroom is very small.
-At night we could hear loud partygoers for a few hours longer than ideal, but perhaps that would be the case anywhere else within the palace.
-Toiletries are provided in small, single use plastic bottles, which most hotels have moved away from since those are not as eco-friendly as dispensers.
