Amazing Stay

Our stay at Belton Chalet was amazing. Such an quaint lodge. The woman at the front desk was so helpful and courteous (wish I could remember her name). The room was nice with little welcoming touches. We ate at the restaurant there and had a wonderful meal with the family. I would highly recommend staying here.

Best lodging on the west side of Glacier National!

Amazing atmosphere, comfortable and clean. Rustic, historic building, lovely balcony with fabulous views. Awesome restaurant on property.

The staff at the Belton Chalet were wonderful and very welcoming. The hotel is historic..which also means the rooms are pretty small and a bit outdated in some ways. And the price point was very high but I think thats pretty standard for this time of year.

Excellent service

Excellent service from the front desk attendent. Loved the personal note with candies laying on my bed when we checked into the room. Loved the old atmospere and history of the chalet. Would definitly stay here again.

This was a truly wonderful experience. Staying at the Belton offered a charming, historic atmosphere, conveniently located just outside the park. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant provided the best dining experience we had during our stay.

Charming hotel!

There are many negative reviews. Which are subjective. This is a beautiful historic hotel that has maintained its charm. If you are only happy with modern box hotels this probably wont be for you. We had a top floor back of the hotel room. Never heard floors creaking aside from our own and couldnt hear any trains. I slept like a baby. Absolutely charming building.

Wonderful quaint Swiss style chalet. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. I hope to travel to this charming place again!

The room was so well appointed for the historical story of the building and area. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Outside seating areas with views. Restaurant food although expensive was delicious and well presented.

Really nice hotel, but I think I was expecting it to be a lot nicer from the photos and such a high review. Something to be known to others, is that the train comes past nearly every hour which is right out the front.

Historic charm

The Belton Chalet is clean and charming with a lively history. The staff was friendly and responsive. We stayed a week in early May and the weather varied, but mostly cool. The rooms are small, but functional and a bit of a challenge for a longer stay - more suited for a long weekend. We have lovely memories of the place and exploring the area!

Fantastic, authentic, pristinely preserved old hotel. It’s like stepping back in time, but tastefully redesigned with all the necessary modern amenities. Except don’t look for a television, but there is no time for television with all there is to do in the park.

I loved staying here. Very authentic, relaxing, and clean. I loved that we could open the windows in our room to adjust the temperature and that they also offered a white noise machine. Free coffee and pastries in the morning, and right outside of the Glacier National Park West Entrance. It’s perfect.

We were just glad to find a room.

It was a very small room. No AC or TV. Was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Not so quiet, floors creaked loudly. Our room was next to the outdoor steps. People walking up and down until 11pm or so. I would stay here again though.

Very cute chalet very close the entrance to Glacier National Park. There is NO air conditioning so luckily for us it didn’t get too hot but if you are coming in July or august we he room may get stuffy. Parking gets full and can be tricky when it is busy. The room is smaller than the typical hotel room in the US but is perfect for a couple.

An okay at The Belton Chalet

We stayed at the Historic Belton Chalet for 3 nights in order to explore West Glacier. Our room was smaller and a little more rustic than expected; although it is a historic lodge so we weren't surprised. Be aware that the trains don't just come in twice a day, or twice at night, they come through A LOT. And they're loud. They do have ear plugs and noise machines in the rooms so just keep it in mind if you're a light sleeper. The free coffee in the morning is fairly weak, but they do offer one free small pastry each morning. We enjoyed sitting outside on the concrete picnic tables and benches in the evening to play cribbage. Belton is within walking distance to Freda's restaurant which we enjoyed breakfast and lunch at. All in all, our stay was comfortable, but more expensive than what we feel was offered.

We almost didn’t stay based on the train review by someone. The train did go by but never blew its horn. Hardly noticed it and it went by more than once. The building is like stepping back in time a 100 years. What a treat it was to stay there. Awesome place!!!

Charming historic chalet built in the early 1900’s. Very comfortable and I rested well. Be aware though that there is no a/c. We were comfortable with the windows open and the ceiling fan on. If the temperature were higher we might not have been. It is in a very convenient location.
