We had a river view suite. It was implausibly large, with very heavy furnishings. The hotel was looking rather tired and in need of a refresh — scuffed paintwork and chipped MDF. The room had not been properly cleaned — parts were rather dusty — but housekeeping Some of the rooms on the other side of the corridor seemed to have had an upgrade and looked more modern. Neither the safe nor the USB points worked, but when we mentioned them, the front desk very quickly sent a maintenance man, who fixed them. The bathroom basin leaked badly, but was also quickly fixed. Only small quantities of toiletries were in the room, but more were provided on request.
There is a small, sparsely equipped gym. Breakfast was OK, but not of the standard one would expect for the room price. Bikes were available for use of guests free of charge (although the brakes could do with a service).
The front desk were very helpful. The manager Chaiwat Piriypada came and apologised to us personally for the state of the room. When we asked him where we could get the zip on a shoulder bag replaced, he took the bag and arranged for its repair at no charge to us.
