We fully enjoy our stay! Across the road from the ocean(water). Enjoyable property and bunnies running around. Room had nice set up like a bachelor suite. Nicely spread out with kitchenette with necessary items for use. Nice sitting area for eating with table and chairs and nice tv viewing area with couch and coffee table. Comfy bed. Nice washroom. And nicely laid out back deck from room. This will be our number one preferred place to stay now! And owner very friendly and reasonable price😁

OK place but bad management

My overall lower rating has nothing to do with the facility which is good but with the overall bad management of the facility. I selected this place because I needed a unit with a kitchenette. When I was planning my very long trip in western Canada, I couldn't find anything affordable around Tofino, so I decided to have a second night in Qualicum Beach at the same location. I made that second night reservation the same day as I made my first one. I have travelled extensively around the world and I have sometimes added night at a same location. Each time, that hotel was smart and organised enough to realise that it was the same person making another reservation and simply adding a night to the reservation. However, the staff at Qualicum Bay resort were not organised and smart enough to realise that I had added a second night. This mishap resulted in me having to check-out from my first room and move and check back in to another room in between my two nights. Totally unsatisfactory! Although the rooms were clean and comfortable, we were left with a very sour taste about all the warning notes in the cabins about noise, smoking, or other matters. What's the point to have all these warnings when management staff does not enforce it! On our first night, there was a lot of noise very late in the night in the unit next to ours and more people than the allowable limit. Since there is no management staff on site after 9pm, none of their multiple rules can be enforced. Not good!!

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of our 2 bedroom cottage, made our stay very comfortable with our dog as well. It was very clean but surprised there was no coffee maker, so bring your own, otherwise it was great. The view of the ocean was beautiful.

Run down

A very rundown property in general. Grounds are overrun with rabbits, lots of broken fixtures, etc. The room itself was fairly clean and the beds were newish. Otherwise very basic. Our biggest disappointment was my child. Was looking forward to using the swimming pool and the waterslide which were advertised on the website, but they had been closed all summer and no one updated the website. Office staff was friendly but it appeared. They were having to cover for mismanagement on a higher level.

Quiet stay

We enjoyed the ocean view and the rear balcony. Room was clean. We had read bad reviews that were not warranted. There were no bed bugs. We would have liked some ice trays to make ice but other than that it was a pleasant stay.
