This was surely the best hotel in town when it opened. Showing signs of wear and tear (but so am I!), but still comfortable like an old sofa. The double room was spacious (by any standard, not just Japan), with room for a desk and chairs. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location overlooking the river, could walk to fish market for excellent sushi.

Fantastic hotel in Niigata

My husband and I and our 2 friends stayed at Hotel Okura Niigata In April 2025 - 2 rooms facing the river. Rooms were spacious, clean, bright with comfortable beds and linens. The hotel & restaurant service is beyond outstanding - despite the restaurant being closed (that served Cherries Jubilee ), the hosts graciously opened the restaurant for us and their chef prepared a spectacular Cherries Jubilee dessert for the 4 of us ! The Breakfast buffet was outstanding. A wonderful assortment of hot dishes including eggs, omelets, Japanese offerings, Cappucino's , salmon, fresh fruits, croissants and salads. Taxi service was readily available. The hotel is in an excellent location downtown with easy access to see sights and restaurants. Would definitely stay again when we return to Japan

相対的に良いホテルです。

外装、内装共に旧さは目立つが、決して汚い感じはない。 室内も清潔さが保たれ、好感が持てた。 フロントのスタッフの対応も非常に良い。 ただし、ベッドメイキングは素人っぽく、シーツが上手く挟まれておらず、就寝後翌朝には捲れあがってしまっていた。室内の冷蔵庫は小さく冷えが悪い（これは何とかしてほしい）。6階にある電子レンジは便利だが、スタッフルームの直ぐ傍に設置されてるので朝などスタッフ交代の時間帯は使用しにくい。地下駐車場はとにかく狭く入出庫が大変でした。

サービス、食事とも、オークラの古めのホテルとしては価格相応かなと思います。 一点残念だったのが、プレミアムセレクションに登録しているにもかかわらず、割引が適用されなかったことです。 ホテル内の飲食について、飲食時に会員プログラムを提示しないと割引が効かないとのことで、それであれば部屋付でお願いしたタイミングで会員かの確認が欲しいところです。
