I came here in July and had such a great time that I booked a couples trip to return in September. Unfortunately, the vibe was very different this time.
The pool loungers had a layer of scum from body oils, and our hotel room had mold on the ceiling around the air conditioning unit. Most of the employees we interacted with seemed agitated and impatient (with the exception of the gift shop and Claim Jumper staff, who were great).
Service at the pool was extremely slow—waiting 30–40 minutes for drinks or food, and part of our order never even arrived. I don’t blame our waitress; it seemed like they were very understaffed. Turn-down service never came by our room either (maybe that’s something you have to request now, but it wasn’t clear).
Overall, it was disappointing compared to my first visit, and I left wishing the experience had matched what made me want to return in the first place.
I will say we are at chart house and it was soooo yummy and service was perfection.
