I travelled to Orange County with my family last week, and unfortunately it was the worst travel experience we have had in all our years of travelling.
While the family room itself was acceptable, several other services that were far below an acceptable standard.
My son has a severe allergy to cats and must carry an EpiPen. On our very first evening in the dining area, we were shocked to see numerous cats inside the restaurant — under tables, on chairs, and freely roaming around as if they belonged there. No effort was made by staff to remove them. That evening, my son suffered an allergic reaction and had to take antihistamines. I raised this issue with reception and guest services (Sherry), who advised there was little they could do about the cats, but offered to let us eat outside the restaurant instead.
The food was repetitive and lacked flavour. The same options were served daily for breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner, with only minimal variation during lunch and evenings.
I have coeliac disease and am vegetarian. Throughout my stay, I repeatedly requested a hot meal suitable for my dietary requirements. For the duration my option were salad with chips or wedges for both lunch and dinner.
This hotel claims to be 5-star, but it is clearly outdated and in need of significant refurbishment. Based on our experience, the service provided would not even meet a 2-star standard, the food quality barely deserves 1 star, and with cats roaming freely around food areas, the hygien
