We arrived at the Motel 6 Fort Lauderdale (near FLL Airport) around 11 PM after a long and exhausting travel day with our family, including children.
To our surprise, there was no room prepared for us upon check-in. The front desk staff seemed more focused on watching wrestling on TV than on assisting guests. They informed us that the manager had already assigned all the pre-arranged check-in rooms, and ours was not on the list.
After rushing to find an available room, they assigned us one… but it was clearly not cleaned or prepared for new guests. The floor was sticky and slippery — it was disgusting to walk barefoot. The bathroom had strands of hair from the previous guest, and the bed was made in a hurry with just sheets and pillows (it’s unclear if the linens were even changed).
To top it off, the hallways reeked of marijuana, creating an extremely uncomfortable and unsafe environment, especially for a family with kids.
This was by far the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We’ve never encountered anything like this before. Avoid this property if you value basic cleanliness and professionalism.
