We were not advised that we would be staying in their so-called cottage--a dark dreary place with no view except an old vacant house next door--rather than the elegant looking mansion/inn until we arrived. Mattress was very soft, causing one to roll to the center; floors and doors creaked, shower door was difficult to close, hot water took forever to arrive, some window shades could not be lowered, driveway was dirt (thank goodness it didn't rain!); windows over the basement were boarded over with rough plywood on the outside, just did not look well cared for at all--substandard for the ridiculously high price paid ($399/night but with the markup by Hotels.com/Expedia, it was almost $200 higher for the two-night stay). The breakfasts included in the stay were nice; but the 'fruit of the day' was actually a rich cobbler with fresh fruit baked in--nothing fresh was offered. We had expected a nice view of the lake, but instead were tucked in on a side street with a view of woods across the street and a vacant house, as noted above on one side, and a residence on the other side. We certainly do not intend to stay at this place again, nor do we intent to use Hotels.com/Expedia.
