The location is very convenient. It's about 3-4 blocks from the Sapporo station and also a walking distance of interesting things to see, such as the Clock Tower (100m), Odori Park (200m) and the TV Tower (300m). There are numerous restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful - and at least two of them spoke English (so, not all of them). The room was clean, even if a bit worn out. Sound insulation was excellent. I had a Japanese style room, but there was a proper spring mattress on the tatami floor and a couple of chairs (pretty low, but fine), so you don't need to sit on the floor if you prefer not to. I think this hotel is good value for money.

What I didn’t like was how the whole property smelled old and how the rooms looked outdated and old. I also wished there were more outlets to charge my devices. The only pros were that this hotel was close to Sapporo Station and many of the important landmarks of this city, and that the staff was kind. Also, be patient with some of the staff who doesn’t speak English.

The staff were really nice. Having a laundry machine was an important bonus. The only real problem was that the bed was uncomfortable. The room was really small, but that was OK because we only needed a place sleep and bath, and lication and staff more than made up for that.

Wifi not working properly in my room. I used other available wifi in the hotel just to be connected. No elevator from the ground floor to the reception area at the second floor which was very hard to climb up especially when you have many or large luggage.

This was my first time in Japan and Sapporo and I could not have picked a better place to stay. The hotel is very easy to find as it’s very close to main station but it’s also a very walkable distance from all the main sites downtown. The staff was courteous, kind and patient. They made me feel at home while away from home. The hotel along with the room was very clean and well maintained. I am a fan of the old brick style entrance as well. Only criticism I have was the wifi on my floor was not very strong. Given I was out and about for much of the day it wasn’t a huge inconvenience but it was unfortunate at times. Thank you to the hotel staff for hosting me. If I am to ever come back to Sapporo again Hotel Tokeidai will be my first choice.

Japanese hospitality at its finest. Property is outdated but everything is in good working condition. I would recommend this property to anyone without wheelchair accessibility concerns. The hotel is surrounded by 4 shopping centres which have underground access to Sapporo station. It is also right next to the orange line bus stop which services the local area and the Sapporo beer museum. Wi-Fi is free but only fast enough for e-mails and light streaming. We paid around $70 CAD per night for a room with three double beds, 2 person couch, and a massage chair. We stayed in May 2024. I don’t think you can find better value anywhere else if you are able to overlook some of the minor issues.

建物は古いですが、室内はリノベーションしてあるようです。DAIKINのエアコンもついていましたし、お手洗いも。空気清浄機も置かれていました。ドライヤーはピンクで「どこの？」と思ったけれどPanasonicのでした。何の・・というのがわからないのですが独時の匂いがちょっと苦手だったのと、コンセントが少ないこと、タオルがフェイスとバスのみでハンドがなかったこと、飲み物が緑茶１つだけだったのが残念だった点です。朝食付きにしましたが、トーストセット、美味しかったです。他にサンドイッチセットまたはおにぎりセットが選べるようです。駅からも近く周りに飲食店も多く、色々含めてリーズナブルなお宿と思います。
