This is a gorgeous historical inn with clean rooms in a historical setting. The staff who maintains the space are kind. Downtown Woodstock (about a ten minute drive away) is charming and wonderful to visit.
However, this is really not an inn. There’s virtually no common space, little amenities and nearly zero communication with anyone who manages the space. We were there during a weather event and there was no one there to help us navigate the situation. In fact, my boyfriend had to shovel and salt the entryways to ensure the safety of us and other guests. Considering there was no food in the premises, no cellular connection, spotty internet, and unsafe roads with nothing in walking distance, I was pretty disappointed by the lack of care or service provided. It felt like we rented a room in an Airbnb which is fine but not what we expected from an inn. It’s such a beautiful space but I wouldn’t be comfortable staying there again.
