If the purpose of your trip is to be near CMU, this is a great hotel due to its proximity.
For anything else, this is a very average hotel, unless you really love the old archaic mansion style.
You get a good amount of room, but the space is not very high quality. The bathroom was old, very little light, and then furniture is quite old (again, if you like this kind of thing then this is great).
Additionally, they somehow were not able to finish cleaning my room by 3pm (or at least they prioritized other rooms, even though it didn't seem like there were a lot of people staying at the time?), and so when I got back at 3:45pm (tired) I couldn't be bothered to wait for them to clean it.
That's not terrible, but when I asked the front desk worker if the hotel could clean it by 3pm the next day, they said that they couldn't guarantee it, and ADDITIONALLY accused me that the only reason they didn't the day before was because I had put the "Do not disturb" sign on (which I definitely did not, they knew I hadn't put that up the prior day because they called me asking if I wanted it cleaned at around 5-6pm, to which I said no). To be clear, the issue wasn't so much that they missed the cleaning, it was what happened the next day.
To summarize, a very average experience for a supposed "4-star hotel" (I would say it is much, much closer to a 3-star or even 2-star hotel in my experience).
