I booked one more night and confirmed with the colleague at the reception during the check in and the day before on a Saturday. However, the reception team had not communicated with the housekeeping team and all my things in my fridge were disposed. I also needed to retrieve all my personal items from the corridor. Some of my clothing was missing, which the hotel was not able to provide a new one.
They just kept on apologising without resolving the issue, i.e. providing a new piece of clothing that was threw away by the housekeeping mistake. Bear in mind I realised all my clothes were threw away in a Sunday afternoon when all the shops nearby were closed. The hotel staff was thinking you should go out and buy a new piece of clothing at your own cost and time (which is precious when you are travelling), maybe some shop at Basel remained open, but does it make sense?
It is a Best Western Hotel, not a small unknown hotel, this is simply far below standard and disappointing.
