Splendid Hotel!

Given a free upgrade to the best room in the hotel with amazing views of the fireworks. Friendly staff at check-in, including a young woman named Charlie (I think) and a young man from Thanh Hoa, both of whom were very accommodating. Well worth the upgrade fee, request room 1002 for one of the best views of Hanoi I've ever seen, and you can have a bath on the balcony!
