Great hotel, lovely staff. We were visiting family in York so didn’t need to use public transport, but there is a bus route outside to get into town. Clean tidy and comfortable bedrooms, beautiful gardens around the hotel. Would recommend and will be back again.

A nice individual hotel with excellent staff, friendly and informative. Characterful and comfortable room with an excellent shower!! Very conveniently located an easy 30 minute walk into York via the riverbank (past ice-cream boat). 7Kw EV charging at competitive prices and £15 charge for the car park. Nick on reception was very welcoming and the addition of a shared balcony to the room was an added bonus. Definitely a goon choice if you want somewhere with charm and a friendly atmosphere

Lovely classic hotel, easy to get to (a couple of miles from the A64.) Handy for York Outlet and just a short work into the centre of the city. On bus route if you don't fancy walking. Classic style rooms in a traditional building. We've stopped there several times and never had a problem. Parking is available on site for £15 per night which is quite reasonable for York. Staff very helpful. If there is one thing that might be an issue for some people if the lack of a lift, so if you have difficulty on stairs you'd need to ask for a ground floor room. Excellent traditional breakfast in the restaurant.

Hotel is old so expect thin walls and creaky floors. The staff, although friendly, weren’t as attentive as they could have been. The EV chargers didn’t work, so we were stuck without a charge (one of the main reasons for selecting the hotel). When asking the staff about this, they were quite dismissive. A little disappointing. The restaurant has closed down. This was also something we were not expecting, but a nearby pub had good food, so that wasn’t so bad. Really good breakfast.

Clean comfortable rooms traditional Victorian style characters. We were upgraded to the apartments across the road in a Victorian style property which was really spacious. The staff are lovely and helpful and the hotel was so Christmassy! This is my second stay and I will be staying again on my next trip to York.
