Not again

On a business trip. Thought I'd get something easier. But it could be cleaner, the bed could be a lot better (not really hotel standard), utensils are worn, no real reception, the fire alarm went off twice but then stopped after a few minutes... no people around to tell you anything because this place has no reception. So I've tried it. Travel to Oslo about 14 times each year. This place will not be on my list to stay over again. Just too many other better alternatives in this price range.

Good budget choice for a short stay.

This was a good choice for a 1 night stopover in Oslo. On the outskirts of the centre but walkable to the waterfront or good metro service. Not much nearby to keep you local for entertainment. Check-in was quite straightforward when we arrived but the details given beforehand weren’t that clear. Basically, turn up at reception, lift the phone and speak to the receptionist, pay your room deposit on the card reader and validate a room entry card. The room was great. Basic cooking facilities, microwave, fridge, kettle and washer dryer included.

Nice private apartment in a quiet neighbourhood, located just 3 minutes walking distance from Tøyen torg, and Tøyen T-Bane. Also there is a bus stop direcly outside of the apartments.

Cheap but stressful and not worth booking

We booked the hotel for the price, as it’s cheaper than others in the area - but it is cheap for a reason and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There was no receptionist present on entry, only a telephone to check in with an offshore call centre and a surprise extra 2000 NOK deposit on entry. The room itself was not sanitary, with stains on the beds & visible damage to the walls. Plugging in a phone charger caused the lights to dim & there was a concerning amount of condensation on several appliances. The whole room was unpleasantly hot. The room we were staying in also had access to an exterior patio area, which had been left unlocked - and we were provided no key to lock the door. This isn’t up to standard for a 3 Star Hotel, the only advantages here are price & location, but I’d recommend saving yourself the stress and booking elsewhere.

Effortless budget stay.

I was a bit sceptic to this hotel, it had gottrn some bad reviews the same week I was going to stay. The check-in was done remotely, no problem with that. Just use the phone, present your card for a deposit for cleaning/damages and present a key card for programming. It was easy and the operator spoke english. The room was basic, no AC, but fridge, stove top a microwave oven and some utensils to make food if you wish to do that. The room had a normal bath with shower, a double bed and a balcony.The overall cleaning was normal, could've been better, but clean sheets and towels. The apartments are close to the subway, bus, and a variety of food courts, grocery shops and bars nearby. Got my deposit back the same day I checked out. Overall a 4/5 experience for a budget stay.

Dirty room and rock hard bed

Avoid this place. The room was dirty and poorly cleaned – dust everywhere, hair in the shower, filthy toilet, dirty microwave, and insects all over the room. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the last guests. The bed was rock hard, and I were charged a deposit at check-in with no warning. Didn’t take a lot of pics but here is the microwave so you can see how dirty. Overall, a terrible experience. Not worth the money, PLEASE look elsewhere.

Impossible to communicate with them. I sent multiple emails and there was zero acknowledgement. Uncomfortable beds. The area was not bad, fairly close.

No AC. Seemed cool that it was a self checkin service. But it is just a phone on a shelf and u call a indian person that is probably far away. and then you have to put down a deposit and place a card on a reader. That itself makes me never want to go back. The beds are as hard as sleeping on the floor. Bathroom was not properly cleaned. And the floor was a lot of dust on. There was no AC just a small fan blowing air. Did not use the kitchen due to the utensils not looking clean. Will not book here again. Just use a little more and book anywhere else.

The check in is done by phone. You don't see anyone during check in or out. We were instructed to open the windows when cooking. We did that, and also used the fan over the stove, but the smoke alarm went off. A gentleman came to our door and asked if the windows were open, and we said yes, and that we also had the fan on. He said okay, that's fine, and left. After that we also used the room fan directed at the window while cooking and the alarm didn't go off. One night there was a group of very loud young men outside for several hours but we couldn't figure out what they were doing. The building itself has different levels and sections with no elevator. We discovered our room was near another entrance we could have used without hauling our luggage through different sections and up stairways.

I was not able to stay at this property as there is a self-check in but no one at Central City Apartments will answer messages or calls regarding how to check-in. I have asked Expedia for my money back since I literally could not get in to my room and had to get another hotel, but Expedia said they would have to call the property. Expedia has been unable to get anyone to answer at the property (same as me;) and yet still won't agree to refund my money. Never book Central City Apartments because you'll end up paying double for another hotel in Oslo. Expedia is going downhill as well and still has not contacted me about returning my money (Expedia was supposed to send me an email as soon as they were able to reach Central City Apartments.)

The only complaint I have is that because these are unmanaged or at least I never met or saw an employee - there was no one to deal with the folks who decided to stay up yelling and screaming all night. The next night too someone came onto a shared balcony and tried to look into my window. Just there wasn’t anyone to call in these situations for help.

The apartment was satisfactory and not too far from the city center. However, everything else was disappointing. Check-in was done over the phone, and there was no staff present to assist with any issues. I called to report that there was no heating in the room, but no one came to check it. As a result, I had to stay without heating for two days. Additionally, another issue was that they required a deposit for potential damages in order to access the room. A young man from another room didn’t have the money to pay in advance the deposit, leaving him in distress. As for my own deposit, two weeks have passed, and it still hasn’t been refunded.

First of all, there is no reception, you walk in and there is a small desk to the right with a phone and a card reader, you call through to some office and you are then informed about a £200.00 deposit which is not mentioned anywhere. I had to help 2 lots of new guests in using this system during my stay as no one could understand it. We then go into the room, there were utensils in the draw covered in food, the floor was filthy, and worst of all the curtains were covered and stained from what was clearly bodily fluids, disgusting place. We asked for the curtains to be changed and were told they would be, however they were not. Nobody was around when we got back. We took lots of photos and will be taking this further.
