The room was very poorly furnished. Just the very minimum in everything: no paper towels, for example. Unbearable the traffic noise during the nights: the buildings around the Colonia St. make like a resonating box that ten-folds the traffic noise. The thin-glassed windows and the blinds are incapable to shield the room from that noise. By the way, the external plastic blinds were very dirty Breakfast only serves cold items. It has some variety but for a long stay becomes monotonous and repetitive: always the same kind of cheese, the same kind of salami, de same kind of cakes, etc. You´ll miss soon something hot: some bacon strips, an omelette, a couple of fried eggs. But nothing of that kind was never available.

The hotel definitely needs some fixing up… curtains falling, bed covers stained, shower curtain falling as well, and the breakfast is chaotic and needs some lighter and healthier fare. Staff for the most part nice

NOT recomendable.

We chose this as the location was quite centric and convenient for our purpose, and the hotel staff was friendly with a complimentary breakfast, but apart from those points the hotel is in a horrific condition. Our room (2nd floor) was facing the main street was INCREDIBLY noisy due to all day long traffic, separated by just a think window. The hotel corridor lighting has a poor sensor so it's always dark. The amenities placed in the room is under the minimum, with only over-used thin towels and just 2 soap bars, no shampoo or whatsoever. For the price we paid, there were plenty other options that we could've gone (and we will for our next trips to Montevideo).

Extremely Disappointing

We were disappointed as soon as we arrived at Hotel Europa, walking from the taxi through marijuana smoke to the front door, which was already locked at 7.30pm. On reaching our room we decided to move to another hotel due to the overall musty smell, basic cleanliness & facilities - these fell far short of the description of the room on Hotels.com. We advised the receptionist of our decision to leave & she was most annoyed. We told her that we understood the hotel's cancellation policy "that any change after 11.59pm the previous day would incur the first night's charge plus fees & taxes". We asked that she cancel the remaining three nights of our four night stay, & refund us the difference, but she refused. I contacted Hotels.com via chat, however, they were apparently unable to contact the hotel's management & obtain a refund for the remaining three nights. Hotels.com subsequently informed us that there would be no refund. I replied to the Hotels.com email outlining that our refund request was in line with Hotel Europa's own cancellation policy & requesting a review of our case - I'm still awaiting a response 3 days later. MOST DISAPPOINTED WITH BOTH HOTEL EUROPA & HOTELS.COM - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL ROUND!!👎☹️

O quarto estava mais ou menos, cobertores velhos, cama antiga, e banheiro rudimentar. Trocar os colchões, limpar o chão que está manchado de tinta da pintura do quarto, a limpeza diária começou boa e depois não esticavam mais o lençol de baixo e não tiravam pó também, resumindo é um hotel antigo que precisa de melhorias, mas os lençóis eram limpos e o chuveiro funcionava bem, outra coisa sofrível era o café da manhã!! Mas fora isso ok

Porém, a qualidade da roupa de cama e banho comprometeu o conforto: estavam velhas, manchadas e com cheiro. A limpeza diária foi básica e sentimos odor vindo do ralo do banheiro. O hotel tem potencial, mas precisa melhorar nos detalhes de higiene e conservação.

O café da manhã oferece uma variedade, de pães, croissants, frios, iogurte, doce de leite e algumas frutas. Há também uma torradeira e uma tostadeira disponíveis, mas é importante observar que só é permitido utilizar pão de forma nesses equipamentos. Tentei aquecer outro tipo de pão, sem recheio, apenas o pão mesmo, e a funcionária me chamou a atenção de forma pouco cordial, o que foi um pouco desagradável. Outro ponto a observar é que, sempre que você sai do hotel — mesmo para ir até o mercado da esquina — é necessário deixar a chave na recepção. Caso você se esqueça, o lembrete por parte da equipe também não é feito de maneira muito gentil. Quanto à limpeza dos quartos, ela se resume basicamente à troca de toalhas e à secagem do chão. As toalhas, por sinal, são bastante antigas e já não apresentam um cheiro agradável. Além disso, pequenos resíduos, como um pingo de maquiagem na pia, permanecem ali durante toda a estadia, o que indica uma limpeza superficial. Por outro lado, a localização do hotel é excelente, o que certamente é um ponto muito positivo.
