Parking was ok, after we discovered another overflow car park. Room was clean and comfortable. It was so noisy with traffic and people outside our window. Not helped by a coach arriving with tourists at 5.40am,laughing and chatting loudly. I did discover that our window was stuck open in the morning,when I reported to the reception they said oh yes we know several people have complained. No apology from anyone, they just said they're waiting for it to be sorted out. I was really disappointed as I've stayed her a couple of times now.

Parking was very limited and open to public access. No apparent cctv coverage either. Due to a private function we could not use the hotel restaurant - it would have been helpful to have been advised of this beforehand as we struggled to find anywhere to eat. Our room was clean but very dated and shabby. Beds were not that comfortable and there were no plug sockets by the beds to charge phones etc. The bathroom - like the bedroom - was very dated and in need of a refit. Breakfast the next morning was the worst part of our stay. Overcooked, rock hard bacon, undercooked sausages and to top it all, mouldy bread! Overall it was very disappointing. We have stayed at the hotel before and enjoyed it a lot. The place needs some investment and refurbishment.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpfull especially the ladies serving in the restaurant at breakfast time. The only minus point is the poor state of the fittings in the bathroom, both the toilet and the bath are in need of urgent replacement.

Awful food and service.

The food was awful, cooked on the outside, raw in the middle. Complained to the manager and she walked off whilst mumbling. Glad to say I hear that manager is leaving this week.

Return trip (one night stay)

Stayed here about a month ago - it is an OK place to stay - you know what to expect from GK. Friendly efficient service - comfortable with no real issues. Good breakfast - evening food was wholesome and typical of all GK menus. Have stayed twice before and would stay again - I have found it reliable and so one thing less to worry about when planning a trip away.

Ok hotel . Bar and food was fine. Rooms could do with an update and a re- decoration as they are a bit tired. But they were clean. Room was boiling as it was a warm weekend. No aircon, and with the window open street was quite noisy.

Nice hotel

The hotel was ok for a two night stay however at night it was very noisy and hard to sleep. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size but the bathroom looked tired but clean. For the price we paid you couldn’t grumble too much. If I was to go again I would definitely not ask for room 15 only because of the noise. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. They accommodated me as I have celiac disease. We came to see the Dads Army museum and everything was walking distance.
