The place was nice and was in a very cool location on the water however it was not clear where to go when dropped by the taxi and there were at least 50 stairs (no elevator) that had to be maneuvered with luggage. The stairs are not all the same sizes and woupd be terrible for elderly Transfers from the airport or port are expenses. This location is at the bottom of Oia. And it’s f yiu need to go tot he top yiu have to take the cobblestone stairs that are in ver 200 stairs going one way. I’m r walk on the street for about 20-30 min We did like the catamaran tour of the black red and white sand beach although it did say you got to sit in the hot springs there was no time for that The host was very helpful

Lugar increíble, con vista espectacular. Lo único poco cómodo es el hecho de tener que subir aprox 250 escalones para ir al pueblo de Oia donde se encuentra la mayoría de tiendas, restaurantes, transporte público, etc. Vicki fue súper amable y me ayudó muchísimo organizando mis traslados desde y hacia el aeropuerto, 100% recomiendo hacerlo.

Even though we had to lug our luggage up the steps to the hotel, we loved it! No complaints here. Vicky in reception reached out to me a week before to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel as well as our transfer to the ferry. She also arrange to have our luggage brought down to the shuttle on our departure. The restaurants below the hotel were wonderful. Wish we had more time to spend at Lava Stone to enjoy the sunrise. Walking the 250 steps up to take pictures by the blue domes were well worth it. Loved everything about Greece. Recommendation, do your shopping in Athens because it’s so much cheaper than the islands.

Wow!!!! What an amazing place!!!! The view!!!! The staffs are so friendly and helpful. I love the restaurants around us. I love the fact that I can walk up to the touristy area or take the DONKEY. It’s so calm and quiet. I just LOVE LOVE it!!

This apartment situated over Amoudi bay on Santorini, was a perfect location to people watch and see the many kinds of boats come and go including the impressive cruise ships when all lit up at night. The 270+ steps up to Oia is a good workout but you can always ride a donkey or take a taxi. Very close to restaurants, smoothies, ice cream and coffee shops. As well a short walk along the cliffs to a swimming spot. This apartment was incredibly clean and was equipped with hair dryer, slippers, soaps and extra blankets for cooler evenings. The deck had a swing making a nice spot to watch the sea. Vickie was so helpful with check in letting us know about the area and things to do. She booked us drivers when needed and had our bags handled for us on checkout. Thank you Vickie for being so kind and helpful! A charming spot! We loved being there.

This place was amazing and in a beautiful location right where the nice restaurants are and most of the boat tours leave from which was great! I’m truly greatful for the late check-in where reception was ready to great us and check-in after midnight, she was friendly and welcoming. You can’t ask for more for definitely worth the price!

It is difficult to rate this hotel. All rooms have a big balcony/patio and provide some of the most astonishing views I've seen. The ocean, the views to the caldera and the castle, the sunsets, really beautiful. I was actually sad the day before leaving the place, couldn't get enough of that view. To me, it is the hotel with the most beautiful view I have stayed at. The staff was friendly and provided a courtesy wine to enjoy while seeing the views from the balcony. So, why not 5 stars? Some 5 sets of stairs have to be walked to reach the room, not ideal when carrying bags. Hotel is located at Ammoudi Bay, a beautiful spot, but cars are not allowed to access the bay. A van will take you from a parking lot, some 600m away from the hotel, to the bay. This works fine unless you have to leave early in the morning. We had to leave at 5am. Van services were not available and walking to the parkade from the bay carrying the bags was not a nice experience. Expect to hear sounds at night. I had to unplug the fridge as it kept waking me up and some transformer outside the room was also noisy. Windows don't have much sound insulation and the bay is windy, so you will hear wind and ocean sounds throughout the night. Anyhow, small things here and there. Just things to keep in mind and be prepared. Overall, I would say these are small details that I would gladly endure to gaze upon that view again. If you can carry bags and don’t wake up easily, you will love the experience.

Lava stone is a beautiful property in Ammoudi Bay. Away from the craziness of Oia, it is an oasis on the Aegean. Hearing the ocean while you drift off to sleep is a luxury in itself. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, welcoming and kind. Would highly recommend.

Hospedagem com uma vista incrível. Por ser em um local na baía de Ammoudi, bem abaixo de Oia, é necessário saber que ou descerá muitas escadas ou terá que ir de automóvel. Como tinha alugado um carro, minha experiência com a Lava Stone foi perfeita. Com muitos restaurantes ao redor, com um pôr do sol incrível. Voltaria com toda certeza e recomendo a experiência aos demais.

The view. Wow! Jackie was incredible. We are at Basalt nearly every meal - their staff was also amazing! Short walk to swimming and cliff jumping. Would definitely come back!!! We stayed in the honeymoon suite.

Lava Stone was great! My husband and I arrived 2-3 hours before check in and we were able to grab lunch at the Ammoudi Bay fish tavern and check in early. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The are A LOT of steps to get to this hotel, so if that is a problem, don’t stay here. The VIEWS and atmosphere are so worth the stairs!

選擇這間酒店時請三思. 先說優點房間裝修很精緻,有巨型浴缸, 床舖很大很舒適亦乾淨整潔。 工作人員也很友善但請注意工作人員并不是長駐在酒店, 所以沒有長時間的行李寄存服務. 我預訂這間酒店房間是為了欣賞日落美景, 但日落被其他建築物擋住, 附上我實際在房間看到的實景供參考. 而酒店的位置可以說是一場惡夢. 由Oia 巴士站步行前往酒店只有2條道路, 一是需時接近20分鐘的樓梯級, 會有騾子在旁邊經過.另一條需時相約，旁邊有汽車經過. 即使駕車也要泊在停車場然後乘搭免費接駁車到附近碼頭再步行樓梯前往. 極之不推薦給行動不便或有大量行李的人選擇,由其是在烈日當空. Think twice before choosing this hotel. First, the pros: the room is beautifully decorated, with a large bathtub, and the bed is very big, comfortable, and clean. The staff are also very friendly, but note that they are not stationed at the hotel full-time, so there is no long-term luggage storage service. I booked this hotel to enjoy the sunset view, but the sunset was blocked by other buildings. I've attached a photo of the actual view from my room for reference. As for the hotel's location, it's a nightmare. There are only two ways to walk to the hotel from the Oia bus station: one involves nearly 20 minutes of stairs, with donkeys passing by, and the other takes a similar amount of time with cars passing along the way. Even if you drive, you have to park in a parking, then take a free shuttle to the nearby port and walk up the stairs. I highly discourage anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage from choosing this hotel, especially under the sun.

Place is awesome, have a great view,Dinning option, is not walkable but the can get taxi for you at $20.00 x way to oia $40.00 To Fira and $55.00 to the airport, the best beside the marvelous view is that owner is reachable she always was prompt to answer any question yo make our state memorable.
