The first review I've ever written but our stay was so awful I have no choice. My husband & I are incredibly well-traveled and have stayed in hotels all over the world. ONTO is absolutely not a 5-star hotel, not even close. A 2 at best and that's a stretch. The point of a hotel is to SLEEP, and it's absolutely impossible to sleep here. The booming nightclub next door had our windows shaking and room vibrating until ~3 am. Sure, the hotel provides cheap earplugs but they didn't help at all. Perhaps the most frustrating though were the dozens of mosquitos in our room. Once we turned the lights off and *attempted* to sleep, we just heard buzzing in our ears and were constantly turning the lights back on to kill them. We weren't able to sleep at all, and found ourselves with countless bites in the morning. Upon speaking to the front desk, they told us they'd swap our room after the first miserable night (though we paid for the most expensive room category, we were more than willing to downgrade if it meant actually getting some rest). The next morning, Mario scoffed at us saying there were no other rooms available. 3 times we asked over the course of 36 hours with zero solution. The second night was no better. Loud noises and endless mosquitos in our room. Finally, my husband & I booked another hotel and cut our losses for the rest of our stay. As we checked out prematurely, Mario once again could not have cared less. I'll be taking this up with my CC company. Worst hotel ever!!
