About five hours into our stay, I saw a bed bug crawling across the comforter on top of me. I picked up the hotel phone on the nightstand and pressed the front desk button but a man answered the phone saying that I had called his room. It was nearly 11pm so I found myself having to apologize to him. We had to go get someone who came to the room and then offered our family of four to move to another room with one king size bed. We were only at the hotel for five hours before having to leave. The hotel staff would not give us bags to protect ourselves from bringing bugs home with us. They would not give check out documents or discuss refund. Said management was not on site and to call tomorrow. It's been almost a week and I still haven't spoken directly with anyone in management. When I called, I was told by staff that the manager gave permission to process a refund but no paperwork or receipt can be provided so I'll just need to monitor my bank statement over the next seven business days.
We've also had to throw away a lot of our personal items as precaution so not to bring bed bugs into our home.
