The view is fantastic and the staff was nice. The location is about 40 min walk to Fira where you can take the public transportation, 40 min down hill to the town and 49 min up hill back to the hotel. You can take a taxi, which costs you at least 15 euro to go anywhere. The room is ok, however I don’t appreciate the cleaning crew to put back the dirty towel to the hook for reuse after I left them to the floor. I wish I knew no change of clean towels.

We got married here on the terrace 10 years ago and returned to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. The staff at Above Blue went above and beyond to help us prepare for our special night. They were incredibly responsive and even allowed us to come back for sunset photos after we had already checked out. The breakfast on the balcony overlooking the caldera is absolutely amazing. The rooms and bathrooms are first-class, and we loved all the thoughtful Greek details throughout the property. This place will always hold a very special place in my heart. The building is solid concrete, even someone walking with hard shoes makes the noise loud thru nearby rooms. We had trouble sleeping due to constant noise. Housekeeping was slack. We had to ask to get new towels after 4 days and our bed was not made until we requested it. Also, the tap water is not drinkable and no bottled water is supplied or available when you arrive. So you need to purchase water from a shop. Don’t arrive late if want a drink that night. Better still, book a different hotel!!
