Rustic but updated

What a cute place! Updated and comfortable with a good sized private deck to hang out on. Would definitely stay there again in our travels.

Great stay

The recently renovated motel was clean and comfortable. Kitchenette and ceiling fan were pluses. Loved the soft, comfortable bedding, and the old Bible by the bed was a nice touch. We walked over to the local bar for dinner. It was Indian taco night. Reasonably priced good meal.

The Wagon Wheel was perfect for our overnight stop! Very clean, looked newly renovated and was very comfortable. Kitchenette was wonderful since there aren’t many food options. Very quiet and peaceful! Highly recommend.

Cute, clean, and cozy

This place is super cute! We loved the plywood construction and the decor. It really felt homey, with thoughtful curation of items in the room. It was super clean and nice. My only suggestion if the owners see this is a towel hook near the shower door.

Rustic Hideaway ❤️

Quiet, rustic vibe, away from highway. Very well cared for facility. I would return in a heartbeat. ❤️

6/10 Good

Remote, basic, but not quiet

Not what I expected. Looked like a travel trailer bathroom. Flies in the room, noisy. Did have a great frig/freezer.

This was just perfect for us and our dog. We stayed 2 nights and this place worked out very well for us. Only complaint was that my husband felt that the shower curtain was too small ...

Stopped on our way to Mount Rushmore. Quaint but clean and just what we needed. It's very remote and not near anything.

The actual building was adequate, clean, easy parking, the person who phoned me to lmk our room number was very friendly, but the area is not very nice, would not stay there again, due to the location.

8/10 Very good

The check in was confusing but otherwise everything was good.

Fabulously comfortable and clean room.

Arrived later in evening, wasn’t easiest to find as Maps sent us on wrong direction. Once figured out how to check in room was comfortable and inviting. Coffee mug on floor half full was missed by cleaning, but we ignored and went to bed. Since code for door is on fridge was a little concerned anyone could step in room and get code to use later.

10/10 Exceptional

I stayed at this motel while passing through a small, unassuming town in South Dakota, and it was an experience that left an impression. The motel itself is simple—think plywood interiors—but it was spotlessly clean and had a certain charm that made it feel welcoming despite its no-frills setup. Surrounded by propane tanks and modest residential areas, it still managed to stand out as a cozy, well-kept spot in an otherwise "nothing" town. What really set this place apart was the exceptional service. I accidentally left some undergarments in the room after checking out, and the owner reached out to me promptly, mailing them back the same day I left. That kind of care and attention is rare and made all the difference. If you’re passing through and need a clean, affordable place to crash with a touch of small-town heart, this motel is worth the stop. Highly recommend for its cleanliness, charm, and outstanding customer service.

Small shower

Only had one small flaw. The shower was very small. We are not that big, but i can't imagine showering there if you were a larger person.
