We were staying at the Cloud one Hotel in Hamburg from the
17th - 20th of December.
The hotel had a very nice style and the room/bathroom was spacious and
clean. Breakfast was good in quality, but extremely crowded, which made it
less enjoyable.
Unfortunately, our stay ended on a very negative note due to an
unprofessional check out experience.
At check-in, we informed the staff that our car was parked in the hotel’s
basement garage, which costs 22 euro per night for guests. I paid for the
stay upon arrival.
At check out, I asked specifically about the parking, as we were given a
parking ticket and wanted to ensure everything was already paid to avoid
any extra charges.
The receptionist initially told me that everything should be in order.
Seconds later, she laughed and said “Oh actually, you haven’t paid, I guess
somebody wanted to give you a Christmas present”, and then informed me that
we had to pay 66 euro.
She moved the computer all the way around so I could see we haven’t paid.
Joking about payment in this situation was confusing, unprofessional, and
inappropriate, especially given the amount involved. It left us feeling
uncomfortable and frustrated at the end of what was otherwise a pleasant
stay.
Good facilities, but poor handling at check out significantly impacted our
overall experience.
