Despite the warm welcome and the helpful staff there are quite a few issues at this hotel. The first thing to be aware of is that it is right next to a busy highway which has traffic on it throughout the night and if you stay in the fifth floor, as we did, they have single-glazed only windows, which also feature openings so you are disturbed by the traffic all night, not great if you are a light sleeper.
The staff kindly moved us to the second floor where there is additional glazing that cuts the noise significantly, a godsend. The second issue is that despite the claim of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) being only a three minute walk away, is currently incorrect as the Egyptian government is set to complete the Metro station and associated subway to the museum, leaving you to take the chances with the busy traffic, which you might have got a taste of during your complimentary ride to the hotel or take an 5-8 minute taxi/Uber journey. Furthermore the long-awaited walkway to the Pyramids from the GEM is also not yet open requiring another taxi ride there too. It will all be finished eventually and then this hotel will be in a great spot to take advantage, but until then, you can do better.
