We booked the cottage suite for a few days away over the holidays. Overall we enjoyed our stay - the service was excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and getting hot chocolate/coffee/breakfast delivered to our room was a HUGE treat (also delicious). As is typical with older inns, this place has it's quirks and could use some upgrades - the shower fluctuated between freezing cold and scalding every 60 seconds, the bed was uncomfortably hard, and the layout of the cottage is a bit inconvenient - the sink is in the bedroom, the tub is fully exposed to the living room, and the toilet/shower room is in between, but door doesn't fully close. We would definitely stay again, but would try a different room.

My husband and I LOVED getting to stay here! The staff here were wonderful! They really valued their guest’s privacy and made breakfast’s so beautifully, and kept the room so clean for their guests. Great vintage Inn with a long history. the vibe is really great inside out. staff was great and the breakfast is very interesting. food is fresh and you get to eat with other guests in the dining room (or you can opt for eating in your room). room is clean and comfortable but not too spacious.

One of the top places in Monterey

Exceptional room. The hotel is older (historic age building) but the amenities are all updated. Breakfast was exceptional and served in the room on the balcony. TV was very small, but Monterrey is not the place to stay in and watch TV anyway.
