Absolutely Disgusting – Misrepresented and Unsafe
We rented the two-bedroom Kachina Suite at Taos Motor Lodge and were horrified upon arrival. The online photos showed a bright, airy, newly renovated space with wood beams and clean, modern finishes. What we got was a dark, dank “suite” with no beams, a stale smoky odor, and a filthy outside back door area piled with trash and blankets that looked like a homeless camp.
The mattress sank nearly a foot when we sat on it. The room felt unsafe and completely misrepresented. When I asked the front desk why our room didn’t match the photos, the clerk admitted the pictures were from the upstairs suite—already occupied. She refunded the room, but as of Tuesday (three days later), no refund has appeared, so I’m disputing the charge.
There was even a sign saying they “don’t rent to locals,” which I later learned is because locals throw parties there. A nearby hotel told me this place was used for long-term stays in the past, which explains the condition. Absolutely avoid this place, it’s misleading, dirty, and should not be advertised the way it is.
